With the development of modern marine industry, the research and produce ofcraft.is more and more important for nation.The research of the rudder has been a hotspot.It has not only realistic significance and economic significance that how to improvedesign capacity of the rudder, shorten the development cycle and reduce its cost. In orderto research and produce Steering Gear, a load simulation system of steering gear isdesigned, a problem of structural design is solved, and the nature of the load simulationsystem is researched and analyzed, an appropriate control strategy to improve deviceperformance is used.The use of steering gear load simulation system is to simulate the load of a shipsteering gear during operation. The output force is huge, so the base of the test bed has towithstand a great force. And the system is a typical passive loading system, the existenceof the surplus force will bring a strong interference to the system.First; the workingprinciple of the load simulation system is analyzed. On the request of the test to steeringgear, the overall design of the load simulation system is completed, the selection anddesign of key components is made, and the structural design of the base of the test bed iscompleted. Then the mathematical model of the loading system and steering system isestablished. The simulation shows some clear defects of the system. After that, thesurplus forces which affecting the performance of the system is studied; and a structuralmethod and a control strategy to eliminate the surplus force of steering gear of the ship ischose. The simulation results show that, the base of test bed can meet the systemrequirements; and the surplus force is eliminated effectively, the dynamic performance ofthe load simulation system is significantly improved.The research on the Load Simulation System of Steering Gear in this paper lays afoundation for the future experiment.
