Gas engines have been developing rapidly all over the world, and the number of newgas engines and modified gas engines raises year by year, but also facing more stringentemission regulations. Only the electronic control strategy can not make the engine work inthe best condition, the uniformity of the mixture directly affect the combustion and have agreat influence on emissions, fuel consumption and power. Therefore, the mixer features isanalysed and measures for improvement is proposed.Firstly, the operation characteristic of proportional mixer and venture mixer areanalyzed. A model of proportional mixer was developed to simulate the work process.Then, the influence of gas inlet pressure, outlet pressure, throat diameter and the numberof holes, outlet diameter, inlet diameter and throat diameter to the flow filed of venturimixer was calculated and analyzed. Based on the research of the work characteristics ofventuri mixer, a better arrangement of the gas chamber and the gas export structures at thethroat were proposed. The uniformity of the mixture of the improved venture mixer hasbeen greatly improved, and the pressure loss was controlled in the reasonable scope.Finally, the operation characteristic of venturi mixer under different conditions wascalculated, the air and gas are mixed uniformly on different throttle opening and outletpressure, and the air-fuel ratio has a slight fluctuations.
