Assembly hollow slab bridge is a commonly used type in domestic middle and smallspan bridges. In recent years, with the aggrandizement of traffic volume and enlargement ofheavy loading, a large number of assembly hollow slab bridges have appeared the “singlebeam bearing” character, which seriously affected the safety and usability performance ofstructure. Taking typical assembly hollow slab bridges as research object, aiming at diseasesexist in such bridges, this paper carries out the research of assembly hollow slab bridge that istransverse reinforced by strengthening the bridge deck, imposing external transverse prestressor transverse bonding steel plate. The main research contents are as follows:1. On the basis of hinged plate theory, the influence of hinge joint damage or deckpavement on load transverse distribution is discussed. A rectangular solid model of hollowslab bridge with no bearing hanging in the air, no joints and no slabs damaged is built, usingANSYS FEM software. By the comparison and analysis of load transverse distributioncoefficients, which are calculated by FEM method and hinged plate method, the simulationmodeling is verified to be rational.2. Aiming at the FEM model of rectangular hollow slab bridge, the influence ofpavement thickness, the value and location of transverse prestress, the dimensions andlocation of bonding steel plate on stress of slab, joints, pavement and load transversedistribution coefficient are carried out. For hollow slab bridge, which joints are damaged orbearings are hanging in the air, the reinforcement effect of increase the deck pavementthickness on hollow slab bridge is discussed.3. Based on old bridge strengthening examples, that one hollow slab bridge isreinforced by strengthening the bridge deck and transverse bonding steel plate, and anotherone is reinforced by strengthening the bridge deck and imposing external transverse prestress,the strengthening effects are proved to be well, through the contrast analysis among thecalculated results of model, and load test results that come from before and afterreinforcement.
