Generally, the steel frame system on vertical and horizontal directions are all theframework. H-shaped beams and H-shaped column strong axis connection is relatively simple,but the H-shaped beams and H-shaped column weak axis connection is more complex,generally people need to make the level connection plate into a trapezoidal plate according toa certain slope radio because the width of the beam flange is less than the width of the columnflange, this makes the fabrication and installation more difficulty, and it is difficult to ensurethe construction quality of the welds. When decorating the house interior, it makes thehousing effective use area being decreased by increasing cross section of the pillardecoration in order to cover the trapezoid plate. In order to improve the drawbacks of theexisting H-shaped beams and H-shaped column weak axis connection, this paper studies themechanical performance of a new steel H-shaped beam and H-shaped column weak axisconnections.The main contents:(1)Have low cycle cyclic loading tests on the traditional beam-column weak axisconnection node and a new beam-column weak axis connection node.(2)Have simulating and in-depth and systematic analysis on the performance of the twobeams weak axis connections under cyclic loading by using the finite element softwareANSYS10.0.(3)Analysis the performance of the new beam-column weak axis connection nodeaccording to the axial compression ratio, the height of skin plate, the thickness of skin plate,the thickness of stiffener, column web height to thickness, the column web thickness ratio, thecolumn flange width to thickness ratio and other parameters.The main research results obtained in this study:(1)The seismic performance of traditional node is superior to the new node, but thecarrying capacity is slightly less than the new node.(2)It can simulate the behavior of the tests connection nodes well by using finite elementsoftware ANSYS10.0. (3)The height of the skin plate, stiffener thickness,the column web thickness ratio havelittle effect on the performance of nodes; the thickness of skin plate and the column flangewidth to thickness ratio have more effect on the performance of nodes.
