In recent years, energy crisis is critical. New alternative fuel automobiles, because of itslow-pollution, energy saving, economic, security, natural gas automobiles have largely beendeveloped at home and abroad. However in plateau area of our country, complex topographyand climate changeful are resistance to their promotion. It is has been paid more attentionhow to solve this problem.This paper opens up research about plateau power recovery of NGV, meeting theproblem of power performance decline on the plateau. The research is divided into two parts.The first part is about the plateau power recovery of the LNG automobiles with turbocharger,the other is about the plateau power recovery of LNG engine without turbocharger.We carried out automobiles field test to study the power of LNG automobiles withturbocharger. The results of improved automobiles test are shown that by optimizingturbocharger match, the power of engine is recovered to80%of the one when it runs in thesea level.And by increasing transmission ratio, the climbing ability of the automobiles is fullyrecovered and the climbing speed is faster than before the improvement, however themaximum speed reduce when it runs in the peace road.The power of LNG engine without turbocharger is studied by GT-power simulation. First,GT simulation model is built, and verification results by the engine frame test are shown thatthe model is accurate and credible. Second, we use the model to simulate the plateau power ofthe LNG engine. The results are shown that the power of LNG engine reduce seriously at highaltitude and need to improve. Last, by optimizing compression ratio, ignition timing, inletmanifold and turbocharger match, the power recover fully, even at medium and high speed,the power is higher than when it runs in the sea level. But the results of optimizing the excess air coefficient are shown that supplying LNG engine with the power mixture doesn’t bring theascension of power, instead of the reducing.The research about the plateau power recovery of LNG automobiles with turbochargeraccumulated experience for later tests, and have some guiding significance. And thesimulation research about the plateau power recovery of LNG engine without turbochargeroffer a theoretical foundation to the LNG engine designs and ameliorations under differentaltitudes.
