Research On The Traffic Flow Characteristics Of The Freeway Tunnel (Group)

As the proportion of tunnel in the whole highway line is progressively larger, highwaytunnel accident frequency, accident harm degree bigger severe reality cannot be neglected.Highway tunnel traffic safety became a focus and key in the field of traffic research. But thespecial environment of highway tunnel (group) make its traffic flow is much instability.Therefore, it’s the foundation for research on the tunnel traffic flow change rule to prevent andsolve the highway tunnel (group) the traffic security problems. Based on National NaturalScience Foundation of China-Research on the Traffic Flow Characteristics and SecurityTechnology of Highway Tunnel Group, this paper discussed about the traffic flowcharacteristics of highway tunnel (group).This paper from the analysis of highway tunnel (group) traffic flow data, through threeaspects for the traffic flow characteristics influence factors, the traffic flow parameterscharacteristics, the traffic flow model building to research on the traffic flow of highwaytunnel (group). The main work and innovation points as follows:(1) Through the analysis of the theory about investigation, determined the surveymethods, and gave different tunnel data list position and the division of tunnel segment; Incombination with data processing purpose, use Traffic Executive and Visual Fortran6.0software to processed data, gave a set of perfect data processing method of building trafficflow model。(2) On the basis of the survey theory and method and the influence factors of tunnel(group) traffic flow, using the mathematical statistics theory, the paper analyzed the trafficflow parameters such as traffic, speed and the headway, which is to illustrate the changecharacteristics of the short tunnel-papaya garden tunnel, extra-long tunnel-the third tunnel ofQinLing and tunnel group, completed the comparative analysis of different collect data point,sections from the single tunnel and the contrast between the tunnels.(3) According to the analytical data, using Curve Expert software to fit curve,constructed the speed-density model, speed-flow model and density-flow model, havecomparison analysis and comprehensive analysis on each tunnel traffic flow characteristicfrom the characteristic parameters of curve model and distribution, summarized traffic flowchange characteristics of the different tunnel, to provide the theoretical guidance for furtherimproving and optimizing the traffic safety facilities.
