This paper mainly researches for how to use Arduino Toolkit inrapidly interactive prototyping for interaction design.Prototype’s value for product development is providing designersperceptual production’s expression for discussion and design optionscomparing which will get valuable feedbacks. The prototyping should becompleted in short time and easy to give a modification. In order toperfect the design project, designers should modify several prototypesiteratively before development. Interaction design process needsprototypes because of its complexity, the interaction process between userand product becomes key point. There is shortcoming in static prototypetools and methods. Common prototyping tools like sketch,3D model,cartoon simulation, clay model, are used for verifying product’s formatand structure, but it is difficult to simulate the interactive process whichwill get designers and users better understood the real user experience. Itis important for interactive products development to find a newprototyping method to solve this.The research is mainly focused on prototyping methods innovationbased on Arduino toolkit. This paper starts research in the interactiveprototyping for the real interaction design project, expands the depth andbreadth in the prototyping field. It is different from the research ontraditional prototypes of industrial design field, this paper is moreinclined to research in a tool which can make experiential prototype. Themainly innovative point of this paper is present an effective prototypingmethod which will guide designers in rapidly making well experientialinteractive prototypes.
