The Aircraft Environment Surveillance System (AESS) is composedof Airborne Weather Radar(WXR)、Terrain Awareness Warning System(TAWS)、Traffic Alert and Collision Avoidance System(TCAS)andmode S transponder, which is an important part of the avionic system onlarge civil aircraft. It can provide air traffic、weather condition and terraininformation to pilot during flight. It can also enhance the capability ofdetecting the aerial environment to improve security effectively. The thesiscenters on airborne weather radar system, set up a simulation system basedon CPU+GPU heterogeneous parallel computing platform. The mainresearch work is as follows:1. Based on the weather radar equation, according to the microphysicsmodel and particle scattering theory, derivate equivalent radar reflectivityfactor to compute the radar echo.2. Technology framework of GPU general parallel computing isintroduced, then describe the CUDA parallel computing programmingmodel、software environment、memory model and executive model。Asparticle neighbor search algorithm is used in radar scanning, the algorithmis described and realized in both CPU&GPU, the result shows great speedup on GPU.3. Environment data is established using3D cloud reconstructionbased on satellite image, and then set up the radar scanning model. At last,as the characteristic of―high speed, low precision‖in radar simulation, thedesign idea of CPU+GPU heterogeneous parallel is proposed.4. Compose and function of AESS simulation test system is introduced, the simulation result of airborne weather radar is showed in the end.
