With the rapid developement of passenger dedicated line and high speed railway in ourcountry, the research and design of train communication network has become a researchfocus in recent years. As a tranmission path of control command and information data, traincommunication network plays an extremely important role in train control system.Itsworking performance is directly related to the reliability and security of train running.Therefore, train communication network monitoring can help know the working status oftrain communication network, find the error information in network transmission andguarantee the safety and reliability of train. The background of the thesis is national science and technology supporting project—"High speed train (CRH2) traction drive and train network system—Network SystemSimulation". Running on the CRH2EMU communication netwrok simulation platformdeveloped in the project, a train communitaion network simulation platform monitoringsystem based on ethernet is designed and implemented. This monitoring system can monitorpacket transmission, token cycle and network performance, test the train communicationnetwork, and perform the control logic of train. It can provide reference for the research oftrain communicaiton network and ARCNET transmission. In this thesis the structure of CRH2EMU communication network simulation platformand working principle of ARCNET is analysed. Requirement analysis and general design isproposed according to the characteristics of the simulation platform. After that the detaileddesign of each module is presented and realization process is introduced. The possiblyproblem of extra token is studied and solved according to the variation of packet order, cycleperiod and throughput. When extra token occuring, a notice is sent to the workstation so asto drop the extra token. Finally the monitoring system is tested. The test result shows that itcan monitor the running status of network simulation platform correctly and effectively, andfind fault and recover it in time. The monitoring system runs stable in high throughputnetwork envirement and is fit to the project standard.
