In a multi-layered civil residence, steel structure system is used more widelyk, especially steel frame structures in-filled walls. Serious seismic damage of in-filled frames in recent earthquake indicates that there is complicated interaction between the infill wall and frame, which influences the seismic behavior of structure significantly. Therefore, seismic design of in-filled frame which does not consider the effect of infill wall cannot ensure the seismic behavior in earthquake. In this paper, the finite element analysis software SAP2000respectively analyzed dynamic characteristics and the action of nonlinear time history analysis under horizontal earthquake of the pure steel frame and steel frame structures in-filled walls. After the nonlinear time history analysis, contrasting seismic response of the value about steel frame structures in-filled walls and pure steel frame. It is getting the cooperative work rules between in-filled walls with pure steel frame. To sum up, the structure can not ignore the contribution of the in-filled walls whether under the action of minor earthquakes (frequent earthquake) or strong earthquakes (rare earthquake). And in-filled walls can improve strength and stiffness of the all structure. Fully considering the role of in-filled walls, can make the structure design more in line with the real stress state. Sufficient and reasonable consideration of in-filled walls influence makes the steel frame seismic design more reasonable in the design.
