At present, asphalt pavement is one of the main means of various levels of pavements, and its quality directly affects the security and reasonableness of road operation, and then brings considerable influence to the social economic. While, as the main element of materials to make asphalt pavement, asphalt has become the significant study for scientific researchers in the field of road engineering. Relying on the superiority of local geographical resources in Xinjiang, the thesis carries out the study on the road petroleum bitumen produced by Sinopec Tahe Branch in Kuqa, comparing it with the relatively mature board petroleum bitumen of Karamay Road, so that the performance indicators and advantages and disadvantages of Tahe asphalt and mixtures can be obtained. The author tries to improve the road performance of Tahe asphalt mixtures from three aspects:the study on asphalt performance, the design and study on the proportions of asphalt mixtures and the study on the performance of asphalt mixtures, and puts forward improving measures from those three aspects, mainly focusing on the improving result of Xinjiang Wuerhe rock asphalt to Tahe asphalt and Tahe asphalt mixtures, whose result is tested by lab testing. By comparing and analyzing the performances of asphalt and mixtures before and after been improved, it was found that the road performance of asphalt mixtures could reach the best when mix8%rock asphalt to asphalt mixtures on the basis of reasonably selecting proportion design of mixtures, which effectively improves the road performance of Tahe asphalt mixtures.
