Lightning protection of power transmission lines is "controlled" and it is completely feasible to reduce the rate of lightning trip by the study on lightning protection of power transmission line, paying attention to the lightning protection of transmission line, increasing the input of lightning protection of transmission lines, promoting the content of technology of lightning protection for transmission line, strengthening the monitoring and prevention of lightning and strengthening maintenance of the transmission line. But lightning protection is still in constant development, there haven’t been any reliable products and measures, there are still many things to explore in lightning protection technology, the mechanism of the thundercloud electrification is still not clear now, the quantitative research lightning induction is also very weak.Therefore lightning protection products are also in development, some lightning protection products claimed to have new effect need to be taken a scientific attitude to test in practice and develop in theory.Due to lightning itself is a small probability event, it needs a large number of long-term statistical analysis to get useful results, which can be achieved by all parties to act together with united strength.This research is to make lightning protection of the transmission line more effective, targeted and reasonable economic by the system analysis with a combination of lightning protection requirements of transmission line and lightning protection performance which is affected by various factors. Statistically analyze the minefield distribution and present the differentiated lightning protection strategy with the lightning protection object of different conditions including the importance of line, the voltage level, the tower type, line corridor lightning activity, topographical features, phase. Analyze via the path selection, angle of ground protection and running effect of protection measures. When the lightning protection is taked on some transmission line which has been run,the implement measures should be compared and selected with differentiated thought. Scientific guidance for power grid transmission line lightning protection, through the differentiated strategy to improve the lightning protection of technical economy, enhance the level of safe operation of power transmission line.
