Installing wind turbine on building roof has been the popular way of wind energy utilization in building environment because of wind collection effect on building roof. This paper did a research into static and dynamic behavior of horizontal axis wind turbine tower installed on roof on basis of studying on wind collection effect of building roof.First of all, the numerical simulation was implemented on the wind field around buildings integrated wind turbines with the aid of the computational fluid dynamics method, and wind speed simplified coefficient (Cv) was introduced to evaluate wind collection on roof.Secondly, wind turbine blade and tower were dispersed into several calculated point, and the average wind speed of each discrete point was simulated according to exponential law. Wind load applied on tower directly and transferred from wind rotor was calculated through wind turbine aerodynamic theory and Bernoulli theory. Static behavior of wind turbine installed on roof had been analyzed in two cases of work and stop. Static response of tower taken wind speed simplified coefficient into consideration was compared with static behavior which was researched in the context of not taking Cv into consideration.Thirdly, Wind-induced response of wind turbine tower installed on building roof was analyzed. The vibration equation of tower was first established with force transferred from blades and wind load considered. The wind velocity time history of blade and tower were then simulated by the harmonic wave superimpose method combined with FFT technology. The blade element theory was adopted in calculating the aerodynamic load subjected on blade. Followed that, the influence of the roof enhancing effect and the blade rotation on wind-induced response of the tower was investigated respectively. Numerical results shows that the wind-induced response of tower will enlarge when the roof enhancing effect is taken into account, and the displacement and moment of tower increases significantly if the rotation of blades is considered.At last, whiplash effect in seismic of wind turbine tower which was installed on roof of a two-span and four-floor framework had been studied. Meanwhile, influence factor of whiplash effect of wind tower on roof in seismic was developed in brief.
