Modern residential landscape construction has achieved a great development inthe past10-20years. Especially in developed coastal region, Residential Gardendesign has become an important indicator of the quality of residential area, whichGuangdong garden practice has been constantly reiterated to South Culture Elementsand local culture to inherit and carry forward. But over all, this design research is notmature enough, and which is not in a mainstream status.First of all, this paper starts from the analysis of China’s modern residentiallandscape situation that focus on the modern residential landscape which exists somedeficiencies, especially in the south traditional element.. The research wills analysisthorough this phenomenon from the design and humanistic perspective as well asseveral important concepts extraction.The research focus on the analysis of the modern residential landscape which hasinherited the traditional element deficiencies, as the example of Jiangnan Gardenlandscape design project combined with other related projects in the south of China.From the aspects of the phenomenon such as the Material Deconstruction, TraditionCultural, Social Behavior etc. to undertake a analysis and research in depth.Finally, this paper try to conclude the following method: decomposition andtransformation, Scattered Reconstruction, Replacement, Basic element variation, AlloIsomorphism, Direct Return, Association etc. to embodied the South TraditionalElements in the particular hard landscape design and tries to explore the modernresidential application feasibility and development direction from South GardenElements.
