The line loss ratio of transmission and distribution system in our country has maintained a high value over a tong period of time, and distribution system has played an important role in it. Placing facilities for reactive power compensation can reduce network loss effectively as well as improve transmission capacity and regulate voltage profile. This dissertation works over the problem of loss reduction and energy saving of distributed power networks.Firstly, the current situation of reactive power control in distributed power systems is introduced. And the research status in this field at home and abroad is stressed.Secondly, the procedures and methods for calculating the parameters of reactive power optimization in the distributed networks are elaborated. The simplified models are derived based on the parameters. Then obtain the flow diagrams. We also give the method of coordinate the optimization master and the software VQC to minimu the action numbers of compensation devices.Lastly, the thinkings of area reactive power optimization are put forward, with some interfaces of the software now in running.
