China’s energy structure is based on coal, with the lack of oil and gas.In the current and future for a long period of time, because of the natural gift,the appearance that coal is used as the basic energy of China will not change,and efficient and clean use of coalresources will become the basic requirements of the national energy development.Besides,the most of china’s coal is used for power generation and75%of china’s installed power is thermal power units,so improving the efficiency of thermal power units to ensure safe and economic operation of power grids has become one of the main problems of electric power industry.In order to guarantee North China electric power system’s safety, quality, stable operation, safeguard legitimate rights and interests of electric power enterprise and promot coordinated development of the power network operation enterprises and grid power plant,North China power grid company, according to the" the management regulations of grid-connected operation in power plant"(electric inspect market [2006]42), started to carry out "two rules" assessment in power plants which are directly dispatched by the provincial level and above power dispatching institution in may,2009.The core of the "two rules" is to improve quality of electricity grid and reliability of power system by implementation of conditional reward and punishment on grid unit and encouraging fast response to scheduling requirements.To the units which participate in the "two rules" assessment, AGC performance has become the decisive factor of enterprise economic benefits.As one of main power plants of Beijing, Tianjin, Tangshan power grid, Dagang Power Plant with4x328.5MW pure condensing steam coal-fired unit is located in North China power grid load center. With the in-depth analysis and research on the AGC function of328.5MW thermal power unit and boiler’s combustion control features,we optimize the control strategy and control system associated with AGC and carry out effective exploration and practice about how does boiler combustion control make response to AGC request,and to effectively increase unit’s speed of response to AGC load instruction and meet the requirements of power grid dispatching,which lays a solid foundation for North China power grid’s safe and stable operation.At the same time, Dagang Power Plant’s AGC performance index is in a leading level as one of North China Power Grid300MW units.
