Running high-speed train is accompanied with coupled vibration of pantograph and catenary. As train speed increases, the abrasion between pantograph and catenary and electrical arc phenomena will intensified which harms the stability of current supplement. So, the study of coupled pantograph-catenary dynamics is a very important aspect in the research of pantograph-catenary relationship.This paper mainly studies the coupled pantograph-catenary dynamics in high speed train and preliminary discusses the influence of catenary vertical unevenness on the coupled pantograph-catenary dynamics. Before dynamic characteristic analysis and dynamic parameter design, the high-speed pantograph should satisfy framework locomotion relationship and strength requirement. Using one type high-speed pantograph as example, this paper first does research in calculation method of pantograph pan-head rising trick and strength analysis method in FEM. By using FEM software, natural frequencies and mode shapes of pantograph and catenary are obtained separately. After that, this paper constructs coupled pantograph-catenary dynamic model for both simple chain catenary and compound chain catenary. By using Newmark method, large-scaled dynamic equations of coupled pantograph-catenary are solved and the statistics of pantograph-catenary response and contact force are obtained. In the real condition, the catenary vertical unevenness is unavoidable. This paper introduces the catenary unevenness to the coupled pantograph-catenary dynamic model and preliminary discusses its influence on the coupled pantograph-catenary dynamics. Finally, a simple model of pantograph-catenary with catenary vertical unevenness is constructed. By using the stochastic averaging method, the stationary probability density of response of pantograph system is predicted.
