V-packing seal is a common form of seal and is widely used in chemical, pharmaceutical, food, metallurgy industry machinery equipments. The performance of V-packing seal is to a large extent influenced by the force of the sealing system and the lubrication properties of the sliding surface. This thesis takes V-seal ring as the research object and carries out detail research by use of theoretical mechanics model building, finite element simulation, lubrication numerical simulation and experiment. The research contents and results of this thesis include:using classical elastic mechanics, the computational model of force distribution and deformation distribution of the filler during the installation is established; According to a specific V-seal ring, four kinds of interference situation include non-interference, only inner surface interference, only outer surface interference, both inner and outer surface interference are analyzed; Using ANSYS software to conduct finite element analysis of the V-seal ring in compression process, and the simulation results like the distribution of axial displacement and radial contact force are compared with the theoretical calculation results to prove the correctness of them; Von Mises stress, axial displacement, the contact force distribution in different interference are also obtained and analyzed. The three dimensional surface of the shaft and the seal are simulated by using Matlab software and the hydrodynamic oil film pressure distribution, film thickness distribution, capacity, friction, frictional heat and leakage of v-seal ring in working are calculated, the influences of external load and shaft speed on sealing performance are studied in detail. A specific experimental apparatus is designed and established, and the influences of the axial compression and the shaft speed on the leakage rate, friction and temperature of the packing seal of the v-packing seal are researched in detail, which proved the correctness of the theoretical study to a certain extent. The results of this thesis can provide a theoretical reference for the further study and application of v-packing seal.
