This paper is achieved for XXX new technology composite armour project. It researched a new kind of SiC composite armour-plate, and laid stress on the process for making the armour-plate. Then put up actual ballistic test and numerical simulation on two kinds of the armour-plate that be made according to the process.Process method and parameter is very important for defensible performance. When we use EVA resin as SiC composite armour-plate base material. According to the result of resin DSC test, we can confirm the compound temperature of SiC armour-plate. And according to the result of composite material T peel test, we can confirm the time keeping for compound temperature. According to the thickness of the SiC armour-plate, we can confirm the pressure of compound process. When we use NBR-phenolic resin(phenolic resin modified by copolymerizating with nitrile butadiene rubber) as base material. According to the result of composite material T peel test and orthogonal experiment, we can confirm the compound temperature, the time keeping for compound temperature and pressure of compound process. The SiC is difficult to adhibit with resin for dissociated carbon powder at the surface of SiC. We used physical and chemical method to treat the surface of SiC, and according to the result of composite material180°peel test to comfirm the process of SiC surface treating.The result of the peel test and the DMA(dynamic thermomechanical analysis) show that, bonding strength with SiC and shock wave absorbing, NBR-phenolic resin is better than EVA resin, so we believe that, defensible performance of SiC composite armour-plate based on NBR-phenolic resin is better than it of SiC composite armour-plate based on EVA resin. The result of the actual ballistic test that12.7mm API penetrate into the two kinds of6mm SiC composite armour-plate, attest the viewpoint above. And the numerical simulation that the process of the12.7mm API penetrate into the two kinds of6mm SiC composite armour-plate, attest the viewpoint above, too.
