Metro has the advantage of timing and its per capital energy consumption is also low, but its total energy consumption is large. Therefore the systematic analysis of energy consumption and the research on the energy-saving approaches for the Metro is very essential for economic benefits improvement.This paper mainly researched optimization of Metro multiple interval velocity curve and dwell time to achieve traction energy-saving, the paper’s research emphasized on several aspects as follow:(1) The forces which in train operation process are analyzed, thus the single particle operation calculation model of metro train is established.(2) On the basis of train operation simulation, train velocity curve is optimized for purpose of timing and energy-saving. A two step optimization algorithm which based on multiple interval velocity curve is proposed. A coasting point optimization model is established for the first step. Based on the first step, the time of multiple interval are distributed reasonably, then a model based on time distribution and Genetic Algorithms is built.(3) On the basis of train operation simulation, a dynamic simulation model of DC traction power supply system is established. Various electrical datas which according to the train running diagram are figured out.(4) Based on the dynamic simulation of DC power supply system, a energy-saving model which based on dwell time optimization is proposed. The impact between dwell time and total energy consumption is analyzed and a target function which makes the minimum energy consumption is built, thus a energy-saving train running diagram which has the minimum total energy consumption is figured out.C++programming language is employed to achieve the above research objectives under the Visual Studio2008development environment. The actual train data, line data, power supply system data of Nanjing Metro Line1are employed to simulate, and the performance of simulation system is tested. The simulation result indicates that the models and methods in this paper are effective and workable. It can provide guiding significance and application value for the design and energy-saving optimization of Metro power supply system.
