Automotive electronic is one of the most important technologies influencing the whole performance of an automotive; its core is the mechatronics technology whose representatives are various control systems. The development level of the automotive electronic is an important sign for the industrial and the electronic information level of a country. As the fastly advancement of the technologies, automotive electronic has passed through the centralized and the distributed arthitectures and it’s now forwarding for the integrated and intelligent one. The automotive electronic computing platform possesses the advantages of the centralized and the distributed architectrue, and all its subsystems are controlled by the central computer running various control logic, and it is the trend of the automotive electronics.Recently, the networks in automotive usually don’t connect all the subsystems, and the microcontrollers control only a portion of the subsystems. But the automotive computing platform has surpassed the conventional automotive electronics, and it can connect all the subsystems together, so the automotive controlling becomes the whole which emphasizes the cooperation of all the subsystems. This is the result of the new requirements and developments of automotive electronic technologies. In this paper, the works are as follows:Firstly, the paper gives a simple summarization of the automotive electronics at first, and then makes researching in the architecture and functions of automotive computing platform and analysis or comparison of the bus technologies broadly used. The paper put more weight on the characteristics of FlexRay bus which is especially for the safe-critical applications. A discussion of the developing technologies is also given out.Secondly, the paper gives an analysis of the automotive electronic throttle control system which is a subsystem of the automotive computing platform, including its architectures and functions. And it gives a design of the system which is based on the microcontroller of MC9S12XF512and the communications between ECUs are processed on FlexRay bus, including the designing of the software and the hardware. In the designing progress, the Based-on-Platform-Method is introduced. Besides, an improvement of the driving circuit is also given out, which enhances the reliability and stability of the system.Thirdly, a prototype of the automotive electronic throttle system is implemented, and some experiments are carried out to verify the responding time and relative functions. The result shows the good timing performance and correct functions of the system. The objectives anticipated are achieved.
