As an important part of the automotive safety systems, Automotive passive safety systemsplays an increasingly large role in reducing traffic accidents which cause personal injury. Forautomotive passive safety system evaluation is still the main crash test, this test is not anaccurate evaluation of the key components that have a major impact on overall passive safety. For the complex structure, technologically advanced passive safety system, we should paymore attention to key components. Using a reasonable analysis and evaluation method todetermine the safety-critical components in passive safety systems, and based on these keycomponents and comprehensive analysis of the proposed improvements is important forimproving and optimizing the automotive passive safety systems security. On the basis of the analysis of passive safety systems of the composition, structure, function, given the definition of the key components of passive safety system. Evaluation ofthe key components, firstly, the use of FMEA automotive passive safety system failure modeimpact analysis, secondly, combined with the failure mode analysis of the severity of theresults of the use of risk assessment and impact analysis, the occurrence of fault frequencyand fault detection, draw various parts of RPN value. Build a fault tree and then based on thefailure mode, calculate the critical degree of basic events of the accident. Thirdly, theintegrated use of AHP Analytical Hierarchy Process to calculate the contribution rate of thedifferent failure modes of automotive passive safety system, draw weight coefficient. this texttakes an example of airbags subsystem, evaluation of the analytic hierarchy processautomotive passive safety system of safety-critical components. Finally, get the vehiclepassive safety systems critical components combined with the results of the evaluation andpropose appropriate improvements to optimize the car’s passive safety performance.
