In this paper, it is based on the adaptive and precise positioning that the flexibleclamping technology of thin-walled parts of space surface as background. It combined withand based on the aircraft thin-walled parts processing, proposed a new method for thethin-walled parts—adaptive positioning and clamping technology. Studying and proposing thesructure and clamping method for the actual product based on the given clamping deformationand the early experiment and work of the project. The main content of compeleted as follows:Firstly, this part reserched on the technical characteristics of the traditional aircraftassembly, leaded to the requirements of flexible tooling system, then introduced the domesticand abroad situation in detail. It elaborated the purpose and significance of the subjuect, andmade the main content, research programs and technical requirements of subject clearly.Secondly, this part established the mathematical model about space surface, proposedmulti-point positioning theory, then proposed adaptive multi-point positioning and clampingmethod. It designed and explained digitized and modular structure of the clamping andpositioning system with CATIA, then inspected the bodies interference. After that, it analyzedthe forces of adaptive mechanism, and analyzed translational deformation with analysissoftware, then descirbed the vacuum system. It analyzed the clamping deformation aboutdifferent instances of space surface of thin-walled parts, then verified the clampingdeformation indicators and the rationality of the adaptive clamping and psitioning system. Finally, this parts introduced the above theory comprehensively, and sumed the results, then give suggestions for improvement direction. The paper has research in the theory anddesign of adaptive mechanism, and hopes than it has some help for the development ofprocessing and assembly of space complex surface of thin-walled parts.
