The instrument originate from traditional optical autocollimator. But it differ from it, the principle of electro-optical imaging technology, digital signal processing techniques and computer-aided measurement techniques are adopted. The instrument’s eyepiece is a CCD sensor, The visual reading mode used in traditional optical autocollimator’measure.is replaced by measurement software. it achieves high-precision auto-collimator measurement target on the two-dimensional.The technology of subpixe fractionizing,edge image processing, complex programmable logic device (CPLD), telephoto lens structure technology are introduced in the paper, It achieves the basic testing capabilities of the instrument.In the paper,.The V-shaped reticle realizing replaced the crossing reticle used in the traditional optical autocollimator, The lighting system is re-design and the laser pinpoint device is added.the measurement software is programmed with VC programming language. the system is tested by the optical angle gauge and contrast the performance of precision with the same type instrument in the domestic and abroad.the error correction and error are analysised, The proposed measures for improvement and ultimately are used, through the study of the technology, the measurement precision indicators is achieved.The range of±400"±0.2",±10"to±0.1in the range of accuracy.are achived in the instrument prototype.
