Most of current optical command observation instruments equipped domestic army used the traditional visible light system, whose night combat capability restriction can not satisfy the forces’night investigation search needs. Nevertheless, infrared command observation instruments that have been developed also have a series of defects such as the field of view is single, the cost of eyepiece system is high and the weight and volume are both too large, etc.Based on the current situation and the foundation of the previous application of infrared imaging technology, this research studies a new infrared ray command and observation instrument installation. It is a modem infrared thermograph collecting a variety of functions in one, using uncooled focal plane array detection technology, and is mainly used for individual soldier holding in hand to observe the target. It can make observation and searching of day and night in all black environments, make laser range finder to specific goals, and complete binocular display with only a micro OLED display. It is also equipped with the function of switching two infrared fields. This article provides a brief introduction of the principle of infrared command observation instrument and completes program and project design of the infrared command observation instrument systematically. This article focuses on theory analysis and design calculation of infrared two gears zoom system and optical eyepiece, and study on the assembly and adjustment technology of the optical axis consistency of this product. In addition, this article also summaries and prospects the development direction of current infrared command and observation instruments.
