With the rapid development of China’s automotive industry, there appears asharp increase in car ownership. So there also appears serious imbalance in thepercentage of cars and roads. As a result, the phenomenon of traffic congestionbecomes more and more serious which causes frequent traffic accidents. The causesof traffic accidents are not single. The combined factors of environment which makedrivers produce changes in psychological and physiological characteristics lead tothe driver’s unsafe driving behavior and eventually result in traffic accidents. Therefore, whatever the traffic environment are and whatever traffic accidentshappen, the driver factors are the primary ones affecting road traffic safety. In thecase of different environmental factors, psychological and physiologicalcharacteristics change with the situation of environment. With the increasingcongestion time, the driver will produce negative psychological factors such asirritability, unrest tension which easily make drivers have unsafe driving behaviorleading to the accident. Therefore, it is necessary to conduct a study of driver’svisual and physiological characteristics in the condition of urban congestion roadenvironment. On the basis of existing research, this article studies the impact ofdriver’s changes in mind and mood in order to provide theoretical basis for thereliable detection and response, which is of great practical significance to reduce theloss of road vehicles to protect people’s lives and propertyPaper is divided into six chapters. The main contents of each part are asfollows.Chapter1is the introduction part of the paper.First, it introduces the researchbackground and research achievement on visual characteristics and physiologicalcharacteristics of drivers home and abroad. Thus, determined on the basis of thecontent and direction of the paper, it establishes the basic framework of the thesis.Chapter2is the basis of the paper’s follow-up study. It begins with the basicconcept, defines the properties and hazards of the congested roads of the city, andin-depth analyzes of the drivers’ factors causing traffic accidents. And also do someresearch on the driver’s mental, emotional changes and the potential consequences. Itclears the impact of the drivers’ characteristics on the accident rate, and furtherclarifies the research objectives and the main problem. Chapter3,based on research objectives, develops the experimental program.Taking the congested roads in Changchun City for example and using FaceLAB eyetracker and BioLAB physiological Miriam to collect acquisition instrumentparameters, I do the tests.Besides, it also analyzes the experimental errors that mayoccur. Pre-processing the resulting data. Depending on the congested section, segments the data, thus, to analyze the relationship between the various factors.Laythe foundation for the analysis of the next chapterChapter4,based on the fourth chapter, performs further detailed analysis ofthe data. It studies the trend of drivers’ blink frequency, PERCLOS under congestedtraffic. Synthesizing the results of analysis, It draws driver’s parameter trends andlaw with the different congested traffic.Chapter5studies the trend of drivers’ heart rate under congested traffic.Synthesizing the results of analysis. Through the analysis of drivers’ heart ratevolatility rate and heart rate of growth. It draws driver’s parameter trends and lawwith the different congested traffic.Chapter6summarizes the achieved research process and the research results ofthe full paper, analyzes the presence of insufficient, and proposes to be furtherexplored to solve the problem.
