In recent years,with the growing of China’s highway development,tunnel technology has been widely used.The different traffic situation inside and outside of the tunnel would have effects on the visual perception of the drivers,even the driving behaviors.A sample of 30 drivers was selected to conduct the experiment which chooses Lan – Shang highway.This experiment uses SMI iView X and MP150 to collect the driver’s eye movement and ECG data to make comparison with freeway tunnel environment in the mountainous area.When studying drivers’ fixation characteristics,I divide the view plane into 6 areas using the K means clustering analysis to discuss drivers’ fixation distribution characteristics.Finally,one-step transition probability and stationary distribution were solved on the basis of the theory of markov chain.The result of research shows that the fixation frequency of the drivers in the highway environment is differentiated from normal road regions,according to the different of road traffic information,and constantly adjust their focus on the target,black-hole effect,white hole effect and sidewall effect must make drivers psychological tension and fear,and even affect the driver’s physiological reaction and driving behavior.When studying drivers’ workload,I choose two aspects of the visual and ECG.Then I process the data and analyses the boxplot,such as extreme value,average value,quartile value in order to analysis the meaning of the data.That driving visual scanning range of peak,visual scanning speed,visual scanning duration,blink duration and heart rate variation are chose for the index parameter that measuring drivers’ workload.The result of research shows that the workload of the drivers in the tunnel section are significantly greater than ordinary sections.And the workload of the entry and the exit compared with the middle section is harder.This conclusion to improve the driving security technology,enhance the level of tunnel safety operation has an application value.
