Motor is a kind of energy conversion mechanism, is widely used in industry andpeople’s life. AC induction motor is the most common type of all kinds of motor. Ithas many advantages, plays an extremely important role in society.AC Induction Motor control system has always been an important topic ofresearch for scientists. In this paper, we present the model and equations of the motorunder different coordinate systems. And also we put forward a variety of controlmethods used in AC Induction Motor control. At present, the most popular controlstrategy is field oriented control method. Combined with space vector pulse widthmodulation technology, it achieves excellent control of AC induction motor. Thiscontrol system can replace the traditional control solution in many areas to achieve thepurpose of energy conservation.In the process of designing induction motor control system, in order to shortenthe period and costs of the project, we need to conduct some preliminary research. Inprevious studies, we need to analysis and compare various motor drive strategy, selecta motor to meet the requirements of the project. And build the simulation systembased on MATLAB. Determine the whole solution through simulating the actualworking condition of the motor. Design the hardware of the motor drive in accordancewith requirements. Select the main control chip and driver module. Conduct thecommunication and interface’s part. The part of drive includes power supply, powerdevice, over-current detection and signal acquisition modules.Build AC induction motor platform to test hardware and connect the MATLABsimulation model and the hardware part. Complete the simulation and hardwarealignment to verify the whole system. At the end of this paper, we point out thedeficiencies and make a prospect of future.
