In order to speed up the development of the beach sea port and coastal engineering, and to be convenient for water and land transportation, wharf buildings are being constructed on coastal port. Wharf structure supported-on-pile is applied for the foundation on which soft soil layer is thicker and it is suitable for pile.Now the upper structure with prestressed structure of beam plate piled wharf has gradually been widely used both at home and abroad in port and coastal engineering. This paper discusses the following aspects:(1) At first, this paper introduces the features of prestress. And then comparing the advantages and disadvantages between the prestressed concrete structures with traditional reinforced concrete structures. Introduction to engineering application of the prestressed structure, and a brief of the unbonded prestressed structure and the external prestressing, which is new development directions of prestress. Pointing out that the prestressed technology is not enough perfect yet in the design and construction, there are still some problems to be solved.(2) Introducing the development of the wharf supported-on-pile upper structure form and listing the project of piled wharf prestressed structure.(3) According to one certain prestressed wharf supported-on-pile abroad, this paper proposes the design of the upper structure schemes and the design principles, and points out that the overall stiffness of the upper structure and the wharf. Damage of upper structure are introduced in the pier, the influence of the standards for inspection and maintenance and durability protection measures are put forward.(4) Calculating the prestressed reinforcement of the panel and sea-side rail beam of a prestressed beam plate high-pile on the basis of the application of the European standard.
