The sand-based permeable bricks is a new type of green building materials, which was prepared by taking desert sand as main raw material. This paper introduced the preparation technology of permeable bricks, and take production methods of epoxy resin mortar and concrete permeable brick for reference. After making a series of experiments, we fabricated resin sand-based permeable bricks and double-layer structure sand-based permeable bricks, and analyzed the benefit of rainwater infiltration with sand base permeable bricks. The conclusions can be drawn investigation as following:(1) The influence of raw materials on sand-based permeable bricks was studied. The silt content in aeolian sand is bad for compressive strength and water permeability of sand-based permeable bricks. Adhesive should be high strength, low viscosity and green, and the GCC135epoxy resin adhesive is nice.(2) The influence of molding process on the properties of sand-based permeable brick was studied. Under the same of adding amount of epoxy resin, the compressive strength of vibration molding process is higher than static pressure molding process of8MPa, but the permeability coefficient of the latter is bigger than the former’s.(3) The influence of admixture on properties of sand base permeable brick was studied. When the adding quantity of quartz powder was between2%to4%, it can improve the compressive strength and permeability coefficient of sand-based permeable bricks. The effect of silane coupling agent KH550is not obvious.(4) The optimal solution of resin sand-based permeable bricks was A3B2C1, through the orthogonal experiment design. Namely GCC135epoxy resin addition amount was6%, and the quality of counter weight was3200g, and the vibration time was15s. Test specimen strength was41.1MPa and the permeable coefficient was2.1x10-2cm/s, sample performance meet the standard JC/T945-2005"water permeable brick"(5) The preparation and performance of double-layer structure sand-based permeable bricks was studied. When the face thickness was0.5cm and it’s epoxy resin amount was5%, and the base thickness was5.5cm and target porosity was15%, W/C=0.3, G/C=3.12, the bricks’ compressive strength value was29.6MPa, and the permeable coefficient value was4.0×10-2cm/s, and the cost was54.1RMB/m2.(6) Dalian rainfall characteristics are analyzed permeable pavement area permeable pavement was calculated. Then the paper analyzed the benefit of rainwater infiltration with resin sand-based permeable bricks. The benefit was estimated to reach16.2082million, which is very considerable.
