According to the design of a flying-swallow-typed tied-arch bridge of200m mainspan at outer ring road of Leshan City, a finite element model is established based on beam elements using the commercial software MIDAS/CIVIL2010. The model is used to analyze the static behavior during the construction course and at the operation stage and to study the dynamic performance. The development, characteristics and classification of classic tied-arch bridge are introduced first in the thesis. Tied-arch bridges in China and abroad are typically listed. Then the characteristics of flying-swallow-typed tied-arch bridges are briefly introduced. Flying-swallow-typed tied-arch bridges in China are typically listed. The spatial finite element model of the entire bridge based on beam elements is established and the modelization of various components of the bridge is detailed. The whole construction process is divided into27stages and the displacements, forces and stress in different construction stages are analyzed. The influence of shrinkage and creep of concrete is also analyzed. At the operation stage, the structural behaviour under live load, wind load, changes in temperature of system, temperature gradient and differential settlement are analyzed and the most unfavorable stress is obtained when individual loads is combined with constant load. A model with pile-soil and a model without pile-soil are used to analyze the vibration characteristics of bridge with the subspace method. The structural response and combined response are given under the longitudinal, transverse and vertical seismic action. The structural behaviour under the combination of constant load and seismic action is analyzed. Also, the structural response and combined response are given under the longitudinal, transverse and vertical seismic action using Anxian Tashui seismic waves in2008with time-history method. The structural behaviour under the combination of constant load and seismic action is analyzed. The elastic stability of the bridge is analyzed and compared under constant load and wind load in the finished state and under constant load, wind load and different6live load at the operation stage.
