With the development of construction of the Electric-power environmental project,traditional methods can’t meet the demands of pipe construction management. It’simperative to take more efficient and practical information management withcomputers. In order to improve the level of construction management, the constructionenterprise should accelerate the development of socialistic market economy and keepup with the step of technology in the information age.This paper is based on the programming and designing of the computer-aidmanagement system of pipe construction for electric-power environment project, anddoes research on the development and implementation of project managementinformation system. First, this paper discusses the background and significance of thesystem, does research on present and development of project management andcomputer-aid management, and the qualification for developing project managementinformation system according to its characteristics. Then, it integrates the practice andputs forward the design method and design thinking of the system. In the designing ofthe system, it does research on the system-developing platform, which integratesobject-oriented program-developing tool and database platform SQL Server2000. Atlength, this paper considered the development of the system, and pointed out itsshortage and puts forward some ideal in future design.The results proved that the programming and designing of the system isreasonable and efficient. The system provides a feasible way for improving themanagement of the pipe construction for electric-power environmental project. At thesame time, the research result has universal significance for the same kind ofapplication developing and gives reference value for other enterprise in establishingproject management information system. Result of this project is identified by theAQSIQ Technology Division to be novel in idea, innovative and be practical atdomestic advanced level.
