The hard x-ray waveband is referred as being from10keV to several hundreds keV. Thehard x-ray radiation of celestial objects plays a key role in studying cosmic high energy andsolving several fundamental problems of astrophysics. The hard x-ray detection has its specialdifficulties. Hard x-ray modulation telescope works based on direct demodulationreconstruction of object method establishment and development by Chinese scholars.Si-PIN detector should be used in the ME subsystem of Hard X-rays ModulationTelescope. This paper analysised the working principle of the Si-PIN detector, the detectortest system (including radioactive sources, Si-PIN, charge sensitive preamplifieramptek-A250F, the main amplifier ortech572A, multichannel analyzer MCA8000A), thespectrum analysis, and Si-PIN detector performance of on proton irradiation. Through a longtime, statistical tests, the content as follows:1) calibrate the semiconductor thermoelectric cooler based on a Peltier effect, determinedthe relationships between current and temperature of refrigeration.2) Put the detectors at different temperature conditions, test the energy resolution. Theexperiment results were analyzed, get the graphs of energy resolution (FWHM) varies withtemperature. What the trend of noise change as detector temperature can clearly observed, andthe impact of temperature on resolution. Fitting the test results, you can get energyresolution rise with the temperature by a exponential function.3) Proton irradiation on the detector, test its leakage current change, get the detectorproton irradiation performance. This paper have completed the testing of the Si-PIN detector temperature and protonirradiation properties, and to provide a reference for the development of the middle energytelescope. At our country with the hignest international level in the field of detectiontechnology, there is a great gap. The mainly reason is domestic semiconductor detectorproduction process is difficult to meet the needs of space explorations, so the productionprocess of the detector is the current prolems to be solved.
