There many advantages in the reinforced concrete frame structure, such as the low cost, the flexible layout, the flexible standardized construction and etc; it is one of the important structures in our architecture, it still has broad development prospects in the future. Therefore, it is very necessary to looking for the reasonable and scientific optimization design method which can ensure the safety and reliability of buildings and improve the construction investment benefit. Also, optimization can save a majority of materials, and then reduce the cost of buildings. So it has significant practical significance and social benefits to make an optimization design of the reinforced concrete frame structure.Genetic Algorithm is a kind of new intelligent optimization method which is developed under the biological technology. Compared with the classic optimization methods, the Genetic Algorithm has a smaller limitation in solution ability, and a les requirement of the objective function and constraints, it can better handle the dispersed and no lined problems. Therefore, using the Genetic Algorithm to optimize the design of reinforced concrete frame structure can better improve the rationality of the design and save the project investment. At the same time, there exist some defects in the Genetic Algorithm like that it is prone to the phenomenon of premature convergence, its convergence is slow and its local search ability is poor. For these defects, in the paper. Fish Algorithm is used to improve it. and then the improved genetic algorithms is introduced to the optimization of frame structures, which to some extent, prevent the premature convergence of Genetic Algorithms and improved the convergence rate.In this paper, firstly. the Genetic Algorithm is improved by the Fish Algoritlim and the optimization algorithm performance is evaluated. And then the mathematic model was established with the minimum cost of beams and columns in the reinforced concrete frame structure as the objective function, using the improved genetic algorithm to make an optimization the programming of the structure. and the optimization results was compared with the results of System Fuzzy Algorithm. The improved Genetic Algorithm is proved to be advantageous in the reinforced concrete frame structure optimization.In this paper, the genetic algorithm was improved, and the reinforced concrete frame structure was optimized. searching for optimization theory and method is the point of research.
