With the popularity of private car, people pay more and more attentions to automobilesafety performance and the car fuel consumption. And new Researches show that vehiclelightweight plays an important role in car fuel consumption. Consequently, more and moreautomobile manufacturers put the car design of safety and lightweight as an importantresearch program. The safety of automobile does not only depend on the performance ofcar body and chassis, but also have inseparable relationship with the other interior parts. Asone of the basic vehicle components, automobile seats can provide the ride comfortable forthe passenger, and also provide security for the passenger when the traffic accidents occur.Under the premise that meeting the requirements of seat safety and strength, the aim of seatlightweight is reducing the weight of seat as more as possible. The safety and lightweightof seat have become the main development direction of seat design.According to the requirements of national standard GB18053-2006, the static strengthof seat skeleton is analysised in this paper, and the result of seat lightweight is got basingon seat static strength. Through optimization, the weight of seat get lower, the skeletonstructure became more reasonable, the stress distribution is more uniform and themaximum stress got smaller than the former seat model. Compared to the seat model andthe lightweight one, the strength and deformation is got under the same impact loadingduring seat impact strength analysis. And then the impact strength and dynamic absorptionperformance of lightweight seat is assessment. There are4main working contents in this paper:1. Referring to the kind of automobile,3D model of seat skeleton is set up with thehelp of the3D modeling software. The parts of the skeleton are classified into the loadbearing, auxiliary bearing and the non-bearing types according to the performance of seatparts when it bears load. And then the models of the parts are built in different way referring to its type.2. Referring to the national standard GB18053-2006"car seats, seat fixtures and seathead strength requirements and testing methods", constraints and loads of the model wereeffected on seat model. The static strength result of seat is analysis in the conditions that20times weight of seat assembly and530Nm seat back flips, which were required in thenational standard.3. The method of size optimization is used to make the structure of seat skeletonmore reasonable. Through establishing reasonable optimization goal and adoptingappropriate optimization variables and constraints, seat skeleton structure is analysised inthe more harsh working condition. After the optimization result is got, the strength of newmodel is analysis again in order to make sure its static strength meet the requirements ofthe national standard.4. By using nonlinear theory, seat safety performance in car collision is simulated inthe software. And then the result of two models, the seat model and the lightweight model,is got in the requirement of national standard. Comparison to the results of the two models, the performance of lightweight model is the same as the seat model in some ways.
