Arch bridge, is one of the most basic form of the structure, it has a history of over2500years. The progress of the society with each passing day, engineer’s rich creative, new technology invented and application and new material of the birth made archbridge continues to the development of the technology. every technology progress ofthe bridge in practice foundation and elder should establish the above ideas, accordingto the analysis means, materials and contemporary the feasibility of constructiontechnology for the exploration and innovation.Restricted by the dignity and economy, wugong arch bridge is hard to to a biggerspan forward. Along with the progress of the manufacturing technology, andproduced a lightweight high alloy steel, make steel bridge construction techniques canunceasing development and perfect. This paper by finite element software ansys, useapdl language of parameterized modeling cycle computing. At both ends of the archby consolidation, a model to calculate a section, get a limit span. Gradually deducedthat the different sections, and to meet material strength, the structure stability ofcomposite limit span. This paper makes a study of the arch axis in the form of aparabolic and catenary limit span. This paper studies the end result: steel arch bridge in meet the precondition ofstatic, the theoretical limit span of11671meters. Thus final conclusion: thetheoretical[24]calculation of the composite arch bridge model that is less than the limitof long span the limit, but in actual construction of construction difficulty is verylarge, so take its10times the limit of the unit section866meters long span forapplicable span. This paper has two innovation:1, theoretically on the limit of thesteel arch bridge span research and defined;2, the research system and structure tolimit the influence of the composite arch bridge.
