As the most widely used motor in China’s industrial development, induction motor plays animportant role.But the starting problems in the beginning of its application has been followed.As modern automated production of industrial and mining enterprises have become increasinglydemanding, the traditional soft-start control method shows a congenital lack of it. And directtorque control of motor control has become the latest theory, its application in soft-start mustalso be in a good performance.This paper summarizes the methods and the traditional start of the pros and cons of themodern way of starting, and applied to direct torque control in induction motor soft starter. Andbuild a voltage ramp soft start model and soft-start model of direct torque control by thecomparison. The result shows direct torque control soft starters can not only effectively protectthe drag equipment through restrain rque ripple, and the torque elevates rapidly, speed increasessmartly, it can be said to be superior in static and dynamic performance than the voltage rampstart, which is better for the development of heavy and high-power soft start and it is also asource of inspiration.At last, in the article we design soft-start controller hardware circuitry and softwareprocesses based on DSP2812chip, and some of the modules were tested.
