With the gradual growth of the city ’s rapid economic and population developmentof Liaoning coastal region, the demand for land is increasing, however, due to thespecificity of geological formation of the coastal region, it’s usually deep soft soil onengineering basis, this greatly affects the long-term stability and safety of the project,therefore, in the coastal area, the project often requires to reinforce a large area of softground, it makes the construction of the coastal areas difficult. Therefore, it’s veryimportant for urban construction to the study the treatment and monitoring techniques ofsoft ground in the coastal region, and it has important practical significance.For this study of the soft ground, combining with soft ground treatment works ofDalian Port Arthur, this article done the following works:Through collecting the successful stories of the treatment of soft ground, thisarticle briefly introduces the situation and development trend of the soft ground in thecoastal areas of both domestic and foreign.Tthis article comprehensively exposes thecharacteristics of soft soil and common treatment used in soft ground in Liaoningcoastal region, and highlights the soft soil treatment technology in coastal areas.Secondly, this article mainly elaborates the working principles, advantages anddisadvantages and the role of effect of Dynamic Consolidation Method, DrainPreloading Method, High Vacuum Densification Method and Prefabricated PlasticMethod, through analysis, researches, compares, and chooses treatment for soft soil inLiaoning coastal area.This article combines the projects of Dalian Port Arthur area, usesADINA software to simulate these four methods, compares the deformation and changeof effective stress after the treatment of soft ground with those four methods, and putsforward a reasonable solution for the soft foundation of Dalian Port Arthur area.
