Study And Optimization For The Cylinder Block Production Line Of A Large Diesel Engine Based On Value Stream Technology

The No.1branch of Jinan Diesel Engine Company undertakes the process and manufacture of cylinder block, cylinder head and cover of diesel engines, among which the cylinder block is the core component of diesel engine and installation base for all mechanisms and systems. It is of complex structure and long processing cycle.16V diesel engine is the newly developed product of our company, with high power, superior performance and high technical requirement. The most process of16V engine cylinder block are machined on the large machining center, with the machining accuracy being of the world...leading level, which has laid a foundation for the high quality and high performance of diesel engines. In the meantime, this product is faced with some problems such as long manufacturing procedure, unreasonable production distribution and unbalance of production capacity.This paper describes the machining process of16V diesel engine block by using value stream technology. The control and statistics of production process is realized by means of MES. The overall production process of cylinder block from blank processing to completion of production are studied by using system analysis, the value stream map of current production is drawn and the redundancy time of non...value...added operation and links in the production chain are found out. Meanwhile, combining the idea of lean production, the process optimization for the machining process of cylinder block, line balancing and production distribution improvement as well as applying pull board are made by using value stream technology so as to achieve the purpose of optimizing flow path of product, shorten production cycle and greatly improve production efficiency.Finally, draw the value stream map after improvement program, conduct program evaluation and comparative analysis of efficiency, which proves the success of applying value stream map analysis technics.
