With the improvement of the system of statutory holidays in China, our residents have144days of statutory holidays a year. In other words, residents have a1/3of the time within ayear to recreation. This not only reflects that the recreational behavior is the significantfeatures of today, but also reflects that our residents pay great importance to recreationalactivities. Nowadays, the per capita disposable income of urban residents in China hasgreatly raised than ever before, and the pattern of production and life has changed from fixedmode into diversified mode, which make the residents have plenty of time for recreationalactivities. In addition, for special groups, such as the elderly, they show a strong desire forrecreational activities under the precondition of life insurance.By studying on Changchun’s residents’ recreational behavior and space, this thesis tries toprovide the basis for the construction of Changchun recreational space, and some referencesfor the researches of other kindred cities.Through field survey and surveys and analysis on questionnaires, the thesis studies therecreational behavior of different groups, analyses the needs and characteristics of all types ofpeople for recreation, combines with the residents’ demand for recreational space and thespatial layout of the recreational areas, proposes optimized principles and strategies onChangchun’s residents’ recreational space and offer the basis for the construction ofChangchun recreational space.This thesis consists of six parts: Chapter One is the introduction; Chapter Two is theliterature review; Chapter Three is the clairvoyance into the status quo of Changchun’sresidents’ recreational behavior; Chapter Four is requirements analysis of Changchun’sresidents’ recreational behavior between different groups; Chapter Five is mainly about theoptimized strategy of Changchun residents’ recreational space; Chapter Six is the conclusionand prospect.
