With the rapid development of China’s modernization process, the process of urbanization is steadily advancing. Especially since the reform and opening up, the city size and population is rising in an incredible speed, and the construction of urban infrastructure is far from being able to keep up with this trend. Traffic congestion and urban parking problems are particularly serious in the modern era. Due to the fast construction speed and unreasonable urban planning, Traffic congestion and urban parking problems have not been solved thoroughly. Barrel-like spiral type underground garage just emerges at this background. Associate professor Yan Ping developed a series of garages with barrel-like wall, taking advantage of its excellent mechanics character for the development of deeper space; improving the current situation that the underground garage needs large area and costs much; suitable for the construction in the center of the city and the underground areas with numerous pipes; also the barrel-like spiral type underground garage is characterized with less land occupation and higher utilization ratio in space. This article focuses on a kind of barrel-like spiral type underground garage and its top-down contruction method. By improving the existing finite element method of bar system, I simplify the spiral floor-slab and the barrel-like retaining structures and put forward a kind of finite element method of bar system considering the effect of arch for the design of the barrel-like spiral type underground garages. Through the3d numerical simulation of the barrel-like spiral type underground garages, I analyse the mechanics character of both spiral floor-slab and the barrel-like retaining structures, and the mechanic performance under the effects of the pressure of the soil and water;contrastively analysing the mechanic performances of different contruction method.Also I simply estimating analysing the economic benefit of the barrel-like spiral type underground garages and its application prospect.
