With the growth of economic and the development of road construction, the trafficincreases greatly,the problem of the damage of pavement has been worse than before.Ruttingis particularly acute in all kinds of damage phenomenon.Rutting not only influences thecomfortability of driving,but also has a direct impact on traffic safety,and finally,greatlyshorten the working life of asphalt pavement.The phenomenon is especially prominent onthe area of overload and high temperature for the asphalt pavement. Therefore,it is animportant subject of the worldwide asphalt materials on the research of rutting of thepavement.Most of the rutting researches maily focused on the experimental analysis of anti ruttingfor the asphalt mixture of the upper course,but according to the relevant researches,the highestproportion of rutting deformation for the whole pavement occurred in the middlecourse,especially when the traffic is overloading,the shear stress is the max value as well asthe deformation, so rutting occurs easily.The study of the text is based on the ruttingproperties of different kinds of asphalt mixtures on the middle course(AC-20C).The main aspects of this text are as follows: Select the commonly-used materials,suchas asphalt materials,aggregates, rutting resistance and etc.Do experiments of all kinds ofmaterials,and then confirm the grading envelop of aggregates,and then make the mixproportion design.On the basis of OAC and the optimum amount of rutting resistance,we doresearch on the hightemperature stability,the water stability,low temperature resistance,theresistance to compression with different kinds of asphalt mixtures.The result of the study indicates that the overall properties of asphalt mixture with ruttingresistance are significantly enhanced when compared with the conventional asphaltmixture,meanwhile,it has the advantage of performance stability,low dose and cost savingwhen compared to modified asphalt mixture.
