With the development of human society, the demand for energy is increasing. As a new energy, the research of biomass energy draws the world’s attention, and its development and utilization becomes one of the research directions globally. Currently, the burning power generation of biomass is one of the main methods in using biomass energy, and the most well-developed and widely-used technology. The biomass generation technology that developed by BWE is in the leading position in biomass applications, its water-cooled vibrating-grate boiler adopts the grate firing method, so that the fuel can be diffused equably, and burned with the vibration of boiler, then the terminal part of boiler discharges the clinker. It is an effective solution to inefficiency, corrosive tail gas, and clinker agglomeration.Because of the complexity of the mechanism and resultants of biomass burning, and the structure differences between vibrating-grate boiler and regular boiler, there are many control problems that need advanced design. There are few experiences that can be used as a reference currently, this paper studied and designed the control scheme of130t/h vibrating-grate boiler based on the1×30MW biomass burning generation project in National Bio Energy Group-Wuqiao. At first, the paper analyzed the characteristics of biomass fuels and melting temperature of their ashes, described the basic structure and choice of parameters of burning system, illustrated the differences between vibrating-grate boiler and regular burning boiler. Then this paper discussed the main task of burning control system, designed the control scheme in terms of delivery system, air supply system, grate air, overgrate air, ignition air, induced air control, and gave some advises on setting up vibration period. Finally, the analysis and discussion on the performance curves and simulation results that based on LN2000DCS illustrated that the control scheme can be used as an effective way in controlling and adapting the vibrating-grate boiler, to ensure its economical safety, stablity and efficiency. The study in this paper provides certain refernces for controlling the burning condition of biomass boiler.
