With the rapid development of our national economy, there are more and moreprivate cars. As vehicles, which play an role as modern traffic tools in today, bringconvenience to us, they also let us suffer the potential danger. People’s lives arethreatened because of the increasing traffic jams every by year, so that more and morecountries and companies that produce vehicles begin to pay more attention to vehicles’crash safety to hope that gain high points in the C-NCAP.The real car test has high accuracy, and the results are accurate, but it also hascomplex operation, expensive cost, strong destructiveness, poor repeatability, limitedoutput data, wasting a lot of manpower and material resources, and can’t providecomprehensive data to the later improvement of the vehicle, the repeated times arerestricted. Along with the computer hardware ascended, large nonlinear finite elementsoftware updated, the computer simulation technology in car passive safety research fieldis more and more emphasized and can calculate the collision performance of the vehiclestructure as well as various spare parts deformed information in a short time, outputcomprehensive data, provide comprehensive data for the improvement and optimizationin future, so it not only save the cost, but also shorten the development cycle. This paper did the study and research on the main functional modules of the presentrelatively popular car collision analysis software LS-DYNA about large displacement, large deformation collision solving principle, and learned the theory of rigid bodies andMADYMO modeling, occupant restraint system was established, mainly simulated on thedamage of the dummy. With a domestic particular car for example, the forty percentoffset collision model was set up, according to regulated conditions of the nationalstandard GB/T20913-2007" The protection of the occupants in the event of an off-setfrontal collision for passenger car ", the model was simulated and solved to get theinformation of vehicle structure deformation, and displacement, velocity, acceleration, energy and so on. The major damage indexes of the dummy were simulated in theMADYMO software, the objective evaluation of the car’s offset collision crashworthinesswas put forward. Finally, the improved measures were put forward in regard to the crashworthiness of This car, structure deformation and deformed features. The effectiveness and reasonablenessof the optimization have been proved after computing the improved modal. The resultshows that:the crashworthiness on the optimized vehicle has been improved obviously, theinjuries of people are also obviously down, it also lay groundwork on computer simulationresearch about forty percent offset collision of vehicles, so it had very important referencevalue.
