Automotive Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) and Electronic Stability Program(ESP) have been a hot spot of vehicle active safety researches. The integration of bothhas become an inevitable trend in the development of automotive brake control. Thougheffective coordination, the braking distance can be shorten, and at the same time thevehicle’s directional stability can be increased. The research of integrated control on bothin the complex braking conditions is important to improve automotive active safety. This paper firstly analyzes the control theory and strategy of the automobile brakingstability. Take Slip rate and yaw rate as the control variables, the ABS and ESP controlstrategies is studied by using the PID control algorithm and fuzzy control algorithm.Combined with a common used method of integrated chassis control, for dangerousworking conditions which is prone to instability in the vehicle when braking, coordination control relationship between the ABS and ESP systems is studied to ensurethe vehicle’s handling stability when braking. After modifying the vehicle dynamicsmodel which is already established in the group, the controller models of ABS and ESPare built in MATLAB/Simulink. By choosing slip rate as the control variables, yawmoment and the slip rate relationship is obtained and the vehicle dynamics model ofcoordination control is built. The off-line simulation of the three controller models isconducted in typical working conditions, and simulation results are analyzed to verify theeffectiveness of their control strategy. On account of the need for control strategydevelopment, a simulation platform for integrated control of automobile brake is builtbased on dSPACE real-time system. A Part of the hardware of the ABS controller, ESPcontroller and coordinated controller is conducted in the loop simulation in the typicalworking conditions. Simulation results show that coordination control strategy caneffectively improve the directional stability of the vehicle in the dangerous brakingconditions...
