As a special large-scale building, the airport terminal has complex function and various systems, it is difficult to control the stability and comfortability of air distribution, such as air temperature, speed and humidity. Thus, it’s very important to design a reasonable air supply system to reduce the cooling load and energy consumption in the airport terminal.At present, comfort air conditioning usually adopt mixing ventilation system, which is low ventilation efficiency, low energy efficiency and the poor quality of indoor air. Displacement ventilation system not only can provide better indoor air quality, but also is a saving energy ventilation system. Because the velocity of displacement ventilation is small and the flow air can’t arrive at the farther place, some buildings of bigger across degree can’t adopt the displacement ventilation system. In that case, the impinging jet ventilation is put forward. Because the advantages of being adopted in the building of bigger across degree, the impinging jet ventilation has been widely used in kinds of buildings in European nation.The FLUENT software is used in this paper to simulate supply the influence of air speed and nozzle height on to the impinging jet ventilation system of terminal in Hongqiao airport. The results showed that the supply air rate is bigger, and air diffuse more far, difference of the vertical temperature is smaller in workplace. While the area with blowing is bigger. According to the result, in a certain height range, nozzle installation is lower, and the cold air diffuse more far, air distribution is more uniform, thermal comfort is the better in the workplace. The best supply air speed and nozzle height are1.6m/s and0.3m in this paper.The large space in this projet originally adopt stratified air conditioning system. This paper puts forward the improved plan to the air conditioning system and validates the plan through the numerical simulation. The results show that changing air inlet position and reducing air supply velocity meanwhile can be a good way to solve some problems exsited in the previously design of stratified air conditioning system, such as low temperature, large wind speed.On the basis of the above, the iminging jet ventilation system of best supply air velocity and nozzle height is compaired with the improved stratified air conditioning system through various parameters(temperature and air speed of workspace, air distribution uniformity, air diffusion properties, heat ventilation efficiency, supply energy consumption). The results show that the iminging jet ventilation system is more suitable for large space construct like terminals.The study of this paper can be valued for the optimized design of air conditioning system in terminal building space, and also can be used for the improvement of indoor thermal environment and energy-saving.
