In the context of global warming, energy conservation, guide the urban developmentof Low-carbon type, are the key measures to alleviate the problem of climate, as well asimportant means to practice the scientific development of landscape in China. It has beenconfirmed of the idea for urban reform and development from green ecology toenvironmental conservation, and then to Low-carbon. The construction of green space is anintegral part of the urban energy saving, the main carrier of the city to increase carbonsinks, and also an important initiative to promote sustainable urban development. With the increasing emphasis on ecology, conservation and sustainability in theconstruction of urban green space, there is a need to integrate some new ideas. Low-carbonLandscape is actually a new idea of the landscape construction, a type that combineLow-carbon ideas within the landscape construction, which pays more attention tolandscape function of energy saving, carbon fixation and oxygen release, and also theimportant component of low-carbon city construction.By analyzing the background of Low-carbon Landscape, combined with the of urbangreen space system in building Low-carbon cities, it raised the opportunities andchallenges faced by our contemporary landscape, and summed up problems of”highcarbonation” in landscape planning and design. The core content of the paper including:1. A summary of the development trends and experience of Low-carbon Landscape bydrawing on the research of domestic and foreign scholars on the theory of low-carbon,generalized the concept, connotation and characteristics of Low-carbon Landscape toestablish related theoretical framework.2. Clarified the difference and connection between the concept of Low-carbonLandscape and Eco-landscape, Economical Landscape and Landscape Sustainability. Itproved that Low-carbon Landscape is not only a type, but the philosophy and principlesthat should be followed in landscape construction. It contains ecological, economicalconcept, and aimed at creating a sustainable development of cities and society.3. It summarized the basic principles of Low-carbon Landscape construction, namelyrespect for the venue, respect for nature, landscape heterogeneity and highlight the nature.4. It provided methodological guidance for the construction of Low-carbon Landscapeby green landscape facilities, landscape materials selection and measures of plant sinksenhancement, and provided technical support for the construction of Low-carbon Landscape from rainwater savings use, waste water purification system and waste landfill.5. Finally, it discussed the construction strategies of Low-carbon Landscape byexamples of different types to summarize and verify the theoretical research, and maderecommendations as:1) refine the study of the carbon sink capacity of the urban greenspace in depth;2) from macro to micro, perform multi-angle, multi-faceted, systematicstudy of Low-carbon Landscape construction;3) promote construction of the Low-carbonLandscape evaluation criteria;4) promote Low-carbon Landscape construction with moreways;5) raise public awareness of Low-carbon, and strengthen the public participation inconstruction of Low-carbon Landscape.
