These years, Energy and environmental problems have clearly worsened and the possibilities to increase green areas in the cities are being limited. In order to alleviate this, green roofs and green walls have become focus of attention as one of the solutions. There is a general narrow-mindedness of building greening in China, which regards wall greening as vines climbing the wall. This paper systematically introduces the methods of building greening, the principles of plant selection, wall structural measures and requirements, green wall maintenance measures etc, so as to for architects and designers choosing green wall provides a reference.The research methods are data collection, analysis and case research. Through data collection, including literature search, network resource sharing, products collection and participating in academic conferences, to understand relevant policies and regulations and the application of new technologies, in the world.This paper introduces the background of three-dimensional green development, the significance of the study on building face combining with three-dimensional green. In this paper, the common building greening is divided into four types, through the analysis of data and the research on some domestic filed cases. Which are:green facades (climbing type;hanging type), Modular Living Wall (planter type; cassette type), Vegetated Mat Wall (pocket type;hydroponics), and balconies green.Study building face combining with three-dimensional green from the following aspects:the selection principle of building greening, the installation measures of wall greening, green wall maintenance measures etc. To summarizes the structure procedure of building greening. Let the building three-dimensional greening have the enforceability.Architect or designer can fully grasp the types of building greening and common practice, to grasp the overall effect after the building or urban greening.Modular, rigid and lightweight, panels can be installed either vertically or horizontally, wall mounted or freestanding. Vegetated Mat Wall:Light weight, great post-maintenance investment, suitable for buildings with curved surface.
