Medium-sized and high-voltage three-phase induction motor is one of theleading products in electrical industry, with the development of modern industrymedium-sized and high voltage motor has been widely used in many industries.The starting process of high-voltage motor has always been a problem concernedby the people. Compared with other small motors, the starting process ofmedium-sized and high-voltage motor has a greater impact in power grid andother equipments. As studying the starting process of medium-sized and highvoltage motor, the most important problems are the T-S, I-S curve changes,temperature rise of the motor and the locked-rotor safety running time.Accurately calculating the motor starting characteristics and temperature rise hasgreat significance for customers to choose reasonable starting equipment, reducethe motor starting fault and save equipment investment.Using the vector transformation method the dynamic problems of medium-sized and high voltage three-phase induction motor are analyzed. The dynamiccalculation method of T-S curve is obtained based on the comprehensive vectormethod. Using the new algorithm analysis dynamic problems of three-phaseinduction motor, the equations are simplified. It is can save more calculating time.The equations are solved by four order Runge-Kutta method, then, thetemperature rise and locked-rotor safety running time of high-voltage motorswith radial ventilation structure were calculated. The MATLAB is used toprogram the starting process calculation. Take the motors in YKK series asexample, the dynamic-state and steady-state characteristic curves are analyzed,and the motor temperature rise and locked-rotor safety running time are analyzed. Calculation result which is in accord with the experimental value is suitable forengineering application.
