Urban Landscape Lighting Design Research

With the acceleration of urbanization, urban landscape lighting is also developing rapidly.At the same time, it brings the city vigor and vitality,it is the symbol of the urban economystrength, and it also shows the cultural atmosphere of the city. However, how to provide a city,the environment of a city with scientific lighting and artistic design has become socialproblems concerned by city leaders, the general public as well as the designers.This paper first describes the background of the research, and puts forward the researchcontent, methods, purpose and significance, the role and status of landscape lighting in thecity, and the needs of contemporary China for landscape lighting, thus leads us to thedeveloping trends in China. Secondly, from the standpoint of theory,it distinguishes betweenurban landscape lighting and urban lighting, explains the category of urban landscape lighting,and enumerates the structure of night landscape system as well as the main points of theplanning and design, and then analyses the principle of urban landscape lighting planning anddesign level. Thirdly，it distinguishes between urban landscape lighting planning and urbanplanning, and presents the objects and tasks of urban landscape lighting planning, planningprinciples as well as methods and steps. It analyses the elements of urban night landscape, andstudies the specific design of urban landscape lighting from elements perspective. Finally, itdesigns and analyses a college landscape lighting, first studies its overview and then analysesthe problems existing in the construction of night landscape in the present situation, finallyanalyses and designs the administrative building and the surrounding park landscape lightingdesign.This paper focuses on combining the meaning of urban landscape lighting planning withsystem construction, penetrating urban design theory and artificial lighting principle,exploring the theoretical framework and planning methods of the overall urban landscapelighting planning. It proposes, on the basis of perfecting the existing features lighting andimproving the existing landscape lighting, to create urban night culture by scientifically reasonable lighting designing and using energy-efficient lighting equipments. It suggests toimprove the level of China’s urban landscape lighting by creating a favorable lightenvironment effectively at different levels and focus.
